What can I donate?

Gently used:

  • clothing & shoes
  • carpets and rugs
  • bedding (sheets, blankets, pillows)
  • athletic equipment
  • computers
  • printers
  • fans
  • lamps
  • appliances (coffee makers, toasters, irons, etc.)
  • electronics (TVs, CD players, DVD players, MP3 players, etc.)
  • furniture in good condition
  • non-perishable food
  • cleaning supplies

Do you have something to donate that's not on this list? Don't hesitate to donate anything someone else might use (except for used personal-care items)!

Preparing your donations

  • Vacuum, roll and tie carpets and rugs before dropping them off
  • Wash & fold clothing; put clothing and shoes in bags
  • Make sure appliances and electronics are working
  • Put cleaning supplies standing upright in boxes
  • Wash and fold bedding and put in a bag
  • Dispose of used personal-care items (shampoo, soap, makeup, etc.)
  • Empty plastic bottles (#1 and #2 plastic) can be recycled by dropping them off in the City of Columbia's drop-off recycling bin by Rollins Dining Hall.

MU students living in MU Residential Life facilities, fraternities and sororities.

When can I donate my stuff?

Donation Stations will be set up in MU Residential Life facilities from May 5 through May 18, 2008. Need a reminder? Add it to your calendar (What is this?).

Donation Stations are located in MU Residential Life facilities; ask your Resident Assistant (RA) if you can't find one in your hall or apartment complex.
