Inspection team honored for innovative program

Campus Facilities' Planning, Design & Construction inspection team was honored July 9, 2008 at the Association of Physical Plant Administrators' (APPA) conference in San Antonio. PD&C Associate Director John Neal and CM Project Manager Jim Heckemeyer accepted the APPA Effective and Innovative Practices award on behalf of CF – PD&C. This award recognizes programs and processes that enhance service delivery, lower costs, increase productivity, improve customer service, generate revenue or otherwise benefit the educational institution. PD&C submitted the "Inspections by Trades" program that is currently in practice within the department.
APPA's Effective and Innovative Practices Award carries with it a $4,000 cash prize. The award is made possible by a sponsorship from Sodexo USA. In addition to the cash prize, winning entries receive special recognition on both APPA's website and in APPA's Facilities Manager magazine.
