Outages and Closings

  • Campus Facilities attempts to minimize the disruption to the MU Campus through careful scheduling of utility outages and road/sidewalk closures. Occasionally, however, situations arise that force an immediate outage or closure.
  • Your building's Building Coordinator is informed of any scheduled outages and construction, and has the primary responsibilty for informing building occupants of outages.
  • In addition to relying upon the Building Coordinators, Campus Facilities also sends e-mail to reach as many affected people as possible.

 

 

Scheduled Outages

Steam Outage Notification - Memorial Union North

Buildings Affected: Memorial Union North

A Steam outage has been scheduled for the Memorial Union North building beginning Monday, May 16th at 8:00 am. There is a significant amount of steam piping being replaced in the building this summer. Current plans are to turn the steam back on in mid-August. All steam heat and hot water will be unavailable during this time. This outage has been scheduled with the building coordinator to minimize disruptions to the activities in the building. In the interest of good communications however, we are alerting others who may have a need to know about this outage. Thank you for your patience as this necessary work is completed. Water Outage Notification - Crowder Hall

A water outage has been scheduled for Crowder Hall starting Wednesday, June 1 at 7:00 a.m. and turned back on at 9:00 a.m. the same day. This outage is necessary to allow Campus Facilities personnel to work on the building water system. All water, including restrooms and fountains will be interrupted for the duration of the outage. This outage has been scheduled with the building coordinator to minimize disruptions to the activities in the building. In the interest of good communications however, we are alerting others who may have a need to know about this outage. Thank you for your patience as this necessary work is completed. Water Outage Notification - Academic Support Center

A water outage has been scheduled for the Academic Support Center starting Wednesday, June 1 at 9:00 a.m. and turned back on at 1:00 p.m. the same day. This outage is necessary to allow Campus Facilities personnel to connect a new fire protection water line in the building mechanical room. All water, including restrooms and fountains will be interrupted for the duration of the outage. This outage has been scheduled with the building coordinator to minimize disruptions to the activities in the building. An electrical outage has been scheduled for the University Avenue Parking Structure, North Node, North Well, Hitt Street Parking Structure, Columbia Professional building, and Fine Arts Annex building on Sunday June 5th, 2016 from 7am - 5pm. This outage is necessary to allow Campus Facilities personnel to work on the electrical system serving these facilities. This outage has been scheduled with the building coordinator to minimize disruptions to the activities in the building.
