Steam Tunnel upgrade
The Steam Tunnel Upgrade will close campus streets in stages until Summer 2010.
At 83 years old, the campus' main steam tunnel is deteriorating and needs to be upgraded. This project will replace the existing tunnel from the Power Plant to the corner of Conley and Maryland avenues, and will provide enough steam capacity to serve the campus for the next 40 years. The $22 million project began May 2008 and is expected to be completed by Summer 2010.
