MU Waste Stream Facts (2007)
- Solid waste generated per year: 7293 tons
- Solid waste recycled per year: 1919 tons
Each day, MU discards more than 30,000 pounds of trash. More than 8,000 pounds — 4 tons — of that trash could easily be recycled! Recycling saves MU $103,000 per year in hauling and disposal costs.
