Last of its kind: The Veterinary Science Building, also known as Veterinary Medical Science Building, was built during WWII at Sedalia Army Air Field, now Whiteman Air Force Base, in west-central Missouri. The structure was relocated to the MU campus following the war to accommodate a flood of enrolling veterans and is the last of dozens of such “temporary” buildings used on campus for nearly 40 years before they were razed to make way for new construction and campus beautification.
