Underground Locates Request Form
All excavations on university property require an underground locate before work can begin. Failure to have utility lines located before digging can cause serious injury or death, damage to property or harm to research due to loss of service. Please fill out the following form or contact Campus Facilities – Energy Management at 882-3094 if you plan on digging anywhere on campus. In the event of an after-hours emergency involving excavation, call 882-8211.
Energy Management will schedule the appropriate utility operators to locate their lines.
Non-emergency utility locates must be scheduled at least two (2) working days in advance. Emergency calls will be handled as such. Emergency calls include, but are not limited to:
- Broken gas lines
- Broken water mains
- Cable outages
- Other problems posing a threat to the safety of the campus community
Periodically a utility is uncovered during excavation that was not shown on any plans. This "dig-up" will be handled as an emergency. This will allow for the utility to be identified and for the project to proceed without delay.
