Doing business with the University of Missouri

Design and Construction

MU Campus Facilities – Planning, Design & Construction department oversees MU campus construction projects. UM Facilities Planning and Development oversees UM System construction projects.

Consultants

Consultants provide professional architecural and engineering services for University of Missouri projects. Consultants must be licensed to practice in Missouri; selection is based on experience with similar projects and professional qualifications.

Contractors

Contractors are hired by the university for building, renovation and infrastructure projects. Potential contractors need to fill out the UM Contractor/Supplier Questionnaire. Information from this questionnaire is entered into the University of Missouri Bidder Database. Firms in the database will receive bid notices by fax or mail for construction projects.

Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprises (M/WBE) Development

The UM System's Minority Business Development Program encompasses UM Health Care as well as the four campuses: UM-Columbia, UM-Kansas City, Missouri S&T and UM-St. Louis. The director of the program works closely with Procurement and Design and Construction at each campus, ensuring that (M/WBEs) are included in the pool of suppliers, contractors and consultants eligible to do business with the university.
